Salt Lily Magazine was born out of tender vision: to nurture a celebratory and intimate online and print space for SLC's art and music community. By showcasing this City's vibrant artistic diversity, we hope to invite others to participate in their own artistic potential. This magazine is a love letter to all the feral outcasts of SLC.

‘Perception’ is a photo series shot over the course of a year using digital and film photography. The series is heavily inspired by philosopher Rene Descartes’ ideas regarding mind body dualism, which argues that the mind and body are separable. Using veils as symbolism the series asks: If we cannot have direct access to anything beyond what is inside our own heads, then it is as if there is a veil between us and reality; between what we experience, and what really is. Is there any way to know what is on the other side of that veil?
