Fall Again - Flight Of A Bird
i flip through the pages of memories
as time digs out my soul and finds pints of darkened lights
i switch off the fluorescence
for the transcendence of warmth and a jot of dark
the feathers of the unfeathered are weathered.
time flies but our wings do not.
gravity, why i don’t want to fall in love again. plucks leaves after summertime. the wind rakes away. the fowl crows rather than chirp beneath the shaken branches.
how does the bird sing melodies when a pecked wood chokes its syrinx?
my nails changed after the manicure.
my feet are clustered in the earth’s crust,
ascension evades thoughts as one is taught to remain at the nadirs. the bottom is where we see the top. institutionalized.
life ensnares the wing of the winged.
I will fall a hundred times, but arise 101 times to flutter my wing.
